Schools and Student Groups

A Typical Programme

Here’s how we organise trips for schools or small groups

Comuni-co Study English

Staying in Peterborough: Peterborough is the perfect location for teenagers to come and study English. Even though it’s one of the fastest-growing cities in England, it’s still easy to get around quickly and safely. It also offers a wide range of opportunities for students to have fun while practicing their language skills: shopping, museums, parks – the choice is yours. Each student will be given a weekly bus card, Mega-rider, to move around the city and to and from school independently. Find out more about Peterborough

Host families: When studying with Comuni-co, students will typically stay in pairs with one of our carefully selected host families. At Comuni-co, we believe that staying in a safe, relaxing and welcoming environment is vital to language learning, so we vet all our host families personally. Students will spend a full family day on Sunday trying to involve the students in community life or showing local amenities.

Lessons: Our courses are mainly held at Peterborough City College, http://www.citycollegepeterborough.ac.uk/ located in the town centre, only five minutes away from all the main amenities. These classrooms are large, airy, and well equipped. The students have easy access to the college cafeteria where they can eat their packed lunch and there is also a large green area outside.

Students will be in a class of max. 15/16 and will have four hours of English teaching every morning including two 15-minute breaks. The lessons will be taught by our ESOL/TEFL qualified language teachers who will tailor them to your requirements, focussing on development points that teachers specify to us before the start of the course. All learning material will be provided. A preliminary test will be given to assess their linguistic skill levels, along with a final written assessment / certificate on their four language skills.

Afternoon Activities

After lunch, students will be accompanied by their English teachers or tutors to have some sport, fun or cultural activities. There are many activities to choose from (see list below) and they vary in price and some are free. If students have specific requirements, we’ll be flexible and do everything we can to add them to the programme. See details of our extra-curricular activities below

Day Trips and Half Day Trips

By road or rail, Peterborough is within easy reach of many diverse cities that will give students first-hand experience of English culture and history. During your stay we’ll organise day trips to Cambridge and Nottingham or Stratford-Upon-Avon. We’ll also arrange two afternoon trips to visit two local towns, (Stamford & Burghley House, and Oundle town), locally famous for their history and heritage. Students will travel by train and coach. Find out more about Peterborough

Airport transfers: Airport transfer will be organised by coach and a Comuni-co representative will welcome your group.
